The Fiberglass Ladder - Is It The Right Choice?

Wood, aluminum or a fiberglass ladder - what is best for you?
Let's face it. First off safety and security should come as a major priority when considering any ladder purchase. As you will no doubt already know ladders are designed specifically to help you reach incredibly high heights or stand above places that are not exactly on flat ground, for most people, these high end complicated ladders can be more problems than you need.

That you may actually need instead is just a nice, simple ladder that will allow you to reach places that are roughly twice your height. When it comes to choosing  ladders of this type, you essentially have three different options when deciding on the materials involved in their construction. You can either opt for wood, aluminum or  fiber glass. Depending on what you plan to use the ladder for, each building material has its own strengths and weaknesses, but if you are looking for one that is an all around great performer, then  fiber glass should be your choice.

As far a strength and security is concerned, a ladder made from this material is far superior to all other types of ladders on the market today. Since it is constructed from manmade materials and is inherently designed to support the highest weight loads, it simply will not fail on you while you are atop it. A wood option may not be quite as sturdy because wood can become weak and brittle over time if it is not well taken care of. Furthermore, because wood expands and contracts during the different climate shifts, it can lead to lessened stability after only a few short months of alternating hot and cold temperatures. And nobody wants screws and bolts to come loose as this would put you in a very unsafe situation.

Of course metal is very strong and sturdy compared to wood and will of course last longer but metal including aluminum does coduct electricity.  Meaning that it can be more dangerous around live wires.  This is where a fiberglass ladder is the best option all round.
