The Collapsible Ladder - Is It For You?
It is appreciated that some people do not like change and will always prefer to use the old standard versions but I suggest that you at least have a look at one that folds away neatly and see for yourself the benefits. These ladders are very easy to manuever and are very lightweight as they are usually made out of aluminum. Unfortunately, despite all of the amazing benefits, ladders like these are actually not for everyone. While the ability to collapse is perfect for storage and ease of use, it unfortunately lowers the amount of weight that it can hold before it may break. Most ladders of this type are only rated at between two hundred and two hundred and fifty pounds, meaning that if you are over six feet tall and have any muscle mass whatsoever, you may not be able to climb one safely. This evaluation may not stop many people unfortunately, so be warned that, though rare, exceeding the specified weight can actually cause a ladder to fail over time. And really you should put your safety first. You may also find that unlike the average traditional ladders which are becoming cheaper and cheaper to buy, one that folds up is rather expensive in comparison to its competition. But don't let this fact put you off buying one though because paying a little extra for a collapsible ladder will in the end be more worthwhile than not.
